The Purposeful Media Promotions Brand Strategy Workshop
A structured process for B2B owners and leaders
Book a CallYour Business Is Running but Your Brand Is Guessing
You have a business that works, customers who trust you, a product or service that delivers, and a team that shows up. That counts for everything. However, do you have a brand strategy that matches the quality of what you’ve built?
So your marketing runs on instinct. Your website says something different than your proposals. Your sales pitch changes depending on who is in the room. New hires take months to understand how to talk about what you do. And you’ve spent money on things that felt right at the time but can’t point to what they produced. It isn’t a marketing problem. It’s a need for clarity. And clarity has a process.

Owners Planning for Exits
If you’re preparing your business for what comes next…
- To get the best value at exit, your brand needs to stand on its own
- Institutionalize the knowledge that drives your company
- These 13 artifacts define brand communication
You’ve spent years building a company that runs on your reputation. Your customers know you. Your employees depend on you. And somewhere in the back of your mind, you’re starting to think about what this business looks like when you’re not the one holding it together every day. Before that transition happens, whether it’s a sale, a succession, or simply stepping back, the brand needs to stand on its own.
Right now, your brand lives mostly in your head. In how you answer the phone. In the relationships you’ve built over decades. That institutional knowledge is an asset, but it’s also a vulnerability. When you haven’t documented it, you can’t transfer it.
Our Brand Strategy Workshop captures it all. We work with you to clarify your mission, positioning, voice, and audience in 13 documented artifacts that make your business comprehensible to a buyer, successor, new hire, or marketing partner. You don’t need more marketing spend. You need a foundation that makes every marketing dollar you’ve already committed work harder.
If this sounds like where you’re now, let’s start with a conversation.
Business Unit Leaders Under Pressure

If you need marketing that proves its value to the people above you…
- Create the framework for evidence that demonstrates strategy
- Clarity that leadership and stakeholders recognize
- 13 tools that give purpose to your outcomes
You’re accountable for revenue outcomes in a business unit or division where marketing has historically been treated as a cost center. You know that’s the wrong frame, but changing it requires evidence, not arguments.
Your challenge is that evidence starts with strategy. And most marketing activity at your level is running without one. Campaigns get launched. Content gets produced. Vendors get hired. But the underlying brand position, i.e., what you stand for, who you’re actually for, how you’re different from the competitors your buyers are also talking to, is assumed rather than defined. That assumption is where budget gets wasted, and results get soft.
The Brand Strategy Workshop provides a documented strategic framework that your team, vendors, and leadership can align around. It turns brand from a creative opinion into a business decision. And it gives you something you can present upward: a 90-day roadmap with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
If you need a strategy that holds up in the boardroom, let’s talk.
WHAT YOU GET
13 Documented Artifacts. Four Focused Sessions. One Working Strategy.
The Brand Strategy Workshop isn’t a brainstorming session. It’s a structured facilitation process that produces a specific set of deliverables. Each artifact’s a working tool, not a slide deck to be filed away.
Here is exactly what gets built:
Session 1: Foundation
The first session establishes the internal core of your brand. Before you can position yourself in the market, you need to be clear on what you stand for and where you’re going.
Artifact 1—Mission Statement: Why your business exists, in language your team can actually use
Artifact 2—Vision Statement: Where you’re headed, defined with enough specificity to guide decisions
Artifact 3—Business Goals Framework: The priorities that your brand strategy needs to support
Artifact 4—Golden Circle Positioning: What you do, how you do it, and the belief that drives it
If you’re concerned about committing fully to four sessions, ask us about booking this session as a stand-alone mini-workshop that clarifies your branding foundations and proves the process.
Session 2: Brand Personality
The second session defines how your brand shows up in the world. Consistent brand expression isn’t a creative preference. It’s a business function. When you document your tone, your visual direction, and your brand character, every external communication becomes easier and more effective.
Artifact 5—Brand Archetype: The character your brand embodies and the emotional resonance it creates
Artifact 6—Voice and Tone Guide: How your brand speaks across every channel and context
Artifact 7—Visual Direction Brief: The design language that makes your brand recognizable
Session 3: Target Audience and Research
The third session turns assumptions about your customers into documented intelligence. Most B2B companies believe they know their buyer. Fewer have tested that belief rigorously.
Artifact 8—Ideal Customer Profile: The firmographic and behavioral profile of the company most likely to buy from you
Artifact 9—Primary Persona: The individual inside that company who makes or influences the decision
Artifact 10—Competitive Positioning Map: Where you sit in the market relative to alternatives your buyers are actually considering
Session 4: Gap Analysis and Roadmap
The fourth session closes the loop. With your foundation, personality, and audience defined, you can now measure the distance between where your brand is and where it needs to be and build a sequenced plan to close that gap.
Artifact 11—Current State vs. Desired State: An honest assessment of where your brand is falling short
Artifact 12—Effort/Impact Matrix: A prioritized view of what to act on first, based on business impact and implementation effort
Artifact 13—90-Day Roadmap: A sequenced action plan you can execute immediately or hand to a marketing partner
All 13 artifacts will be compiled into your Brand Strategy Report, a single reference document formatted for sharing with designers, copywriters, developers, and any other marketing partner you work with going forward.

HOW IT WORKS
Four Sessions. Structured. Time-Bounded.
Each session runs approximately two hours and is conducted remotely via video call and an interactive whiteboard that we provide. We space the sessions to give you time to complete brief pre-work assignments between each one. These observations and reflections make the facilitated time more productive. You don’t need to prepare a presentation or gather data before we start. You need to show up willing to think out loud about your business. The facilitation does the rest.
What the Brand Clarity Workshop gives you first:
If you’re not ready to commit to all four sessions, the Brand Clarity Workshop (Session 1 only) is available as a standalone engagement. You walk away with your four Foundation artifacts and a clear picture of what the remaining three sessions would build. You may choose to start here and continue to the other three sessions. However, Session 1 alone provides enough clarity to give you a foundation for deciding what to do next. Either way, you leave with documented work. Not a conversation. Not a PDF of notes. Working artifacts.
GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Brand Strategy Is Where Marketing Gets Its Instructions
A brand strategy isn’t a marketing deliverable. It’s the document that makes every marketing deliverable better. When your brand strategy is in place, your website has a voice. Your email campaigns have a position. Your proposals carry a consistent argument. Your new hire knows how to represent you in a sales conversation without a two-hour onboarding session. Without it, every marketing decision starts from scratch. Every vendor you hire guesses. Every campaign reflects whoever wrote it that week rather than what your business actually stands for.
For small B2B companies, this isn’t a hypothetical problem. It’s the reason marketing feels expensive relative to what it produces. The spend isn’t the issue. The foundation is. The Brand Strategy Workshop exists at the beginning of every other marketing investment we make with our clients. The 13 artifacts it produces inform email strategy, website copy, content planning, and sales enablement. They answer the questions that every designer, developer, and copywriter needs answered before they can do their best work for you.
You can engage us for any of these services without completing a workshop first. But those who complete it get more out of everything that follows.
The foundation is the greatest investment. Scroll down to take the next step.
Before You Decide
The Questions We Hear Most
“We already know our brand. We’ve been in business for 20 years.”
Knowing your brand and having it documented are different things. If it lives primarily in your head, it can’t be transferred, replicated, or used consistently by anyone other than you. The workshop does not tell you who you are. It captures what you already know in a form that your business can actually use.
“We don’t have time for a four-session engagement right now.”
That’s a legitimate constraint. The Brand Clarity Workshop (Session 1, as a stand-alone exercise) takes one session and delivers four working artifacts. We designed it for exactly this situation. After you complete Session 1, you can schedule Sessions 2 through 4 once the calendar opens.
“We’ve tried brand strategy work before and it didn’t produce anything useful.”
Most brand strategy engagements fail because they produce documents rather than tools. The Brand Strategy Report is a working reference, not a strategic vision statement. Every artifact in it answers a specific question a future marketing decision will need answered. If the prior engagement did not produce that, this one is structured differently.
“Is this right for a business our size?”
We built the workshop specifically for owner-operated and small-team B2B companies in the $500K to $2.5M range. It’s tailored to the needs of companies that have real products, real customers, and real complexity, but have never had the budget or the time to invest in brand strategy at an agency rate. That’s the exact profile this process was designed to serve.
“What does it cost?”
During the discovery call, we’ll discuss the pricing and identify where we can provide an accurate number based on your situation. What we can tell you is that the workshop is priced for small B2B companies, not enterprise consulting rates. The Brand Strategy discovery costs nothing.
PRACTITIONER CREDIBILITY
We Used This Process to Build Our Own Brand
Purposeful Media Promotions exists because of a brand strategy workshop. We defined our mission, identified our audience, mapped our competitive position, and built a 90-day roadmap. The 13 artifacts we produced for ourselves are the same 13 artifacts we produce for our clients.
- We deliver a process we used to build what you’re looking at right now. That matters because it means we know where it gets hard.
- We know which exercises produce the most resistance, and why that resistance is usually the most valuable part of the work.
- We know what happens when you skip a session and try to build the roadmap without the foundation.
- We did the work and built the workshop around it.
